Description: Another overnight offshore passage in the books. It seems every passage we do ends up being around 80-120nm total, which means a portion needs to be at night. Luckily we both enjoy night sailing and can never get over the stars we see along the way. This time we rode out the back edge of a cold front that allowed us to cruise downwind averaging 6.5kts with just our headsail. We arrived safely to Marco Island after 18hrs of sailing and an hour of motoring to prepare for our next leg of the journey. Here we’ll be provisioning, doing yearly engine maintenance, finishing the cockpit teak and going aloft to fix a spreader – all within a week. Oh, and we’ll be filling out the paperwork required to enter our first international port! Hope you all are as excited as we are to finally enjoy the fruits of our labor.
